GARY RONEY

Gary Roney is a devoted husband and father of four children living in the north hills of Pittsburgh, PA.  

Having earned degrees in theology and religious education, as well as certification as a professional coach from Duquesne University, he has over 20 years of experience working with youth, college, young adults, and their leaders in a wide variety of settings within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.  He has obtained the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is a Faculty Instructor for the Professional Christian Coaching Institute.

Gary currently serves as a Training and Productivity Specialist for Decided Excellence Catholic Media and is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, trained additionally in the DiSC personality assessment, MCODE, which is a narrative-based assessment tool that uncovers core motivation, and MPACT, an assessment that measures how individuals elevate and collaborate with others.

After having played baseball and golf collegiately, Gary has coached, trained coaches, and served as Diocesan Athletic Director overseeing a wide variety of competitive sports.  He continues to pursue pathways of integration between Church and sport.  

Golf remains a passion, but it’s a distant second to his enjoyment of watching his children play and learn how to give the best of themselves.
